Blonde services
The experts at RMS Hair Extensions pride themselves in providing the perfect blonde colour for their clients. In order to achieve the most glamorous result, the salon offers a variety of lightening techniques to suit any hair type or colour.
Foils

A full head of foils is considered as maintenance of existing blonde hair with a colour you are happy with. It is important to note that in this service, we will only lighten the regrowth area, not the middle or ends.
You can add an ends-refresh on top of this service for an additional cost to achieve a cleaner look. We do not recommend this for every appointment or if your hair is in any way compromised.

Blonde Package

A blonde package is for lightening the whole hair. It includes a full head of foils and the hair in between the foils.
If you have not had your hair done for a while, a blonde package is recommended to achieve the maximum amount of lightening.
Not lifting the in-between hair will result in you having to go in and lighten the hair again which can overlap the already lightened hair and cause serious breakage.
We can lift your blonde lighter each session, however that doesn’t mean picking out darker pieces that have not been lifted. We need to lift as much hair as possible with maximum coverage of lightening in one session and then you can slowly build on the level of overall lightness in each visit.

Balayage
The term balayage is taken from the French word for ‘sweeping’. It’s a freehand hair colouring technique that gives a really blended, natural look with no harsh or obvious regrowth lines. It is a low-maintenance way to go lighter.

Root Stretch

Root stretching is a balayage technique that blends out the natural root colour. This technique is done by applying colour to your roots and blending it down the strands to create a natural and blended colour.

Going from Brown to Blonde

If your hair is from box colour or really dark coloured non-virgin hair, and you want to go blonde, you need to be realistic in the results you can achieve.
It’s best to start the process by working your way from the bottom up as the hair looks better when the roots are darker, and the middle and ends are lighter.
The hair has to lift through the artificial colour and break through the red/orange tones that sit underneath the dark colour.
To get the best blended result, start with balayage.
If you don’t start the balayage process in small steps, then the new hair at the root area will lift a lot lighter than the rest of the hair as it has less build-up of colour.
If you don’t work your way from the bottom up, you will end up with the following uneven result.
When you colour your hair blonde, it is important to understand that the hair will lift lighter at the top where the hair has less build-up of colour. It gets warmer with less lift at the middle and the ends where there is more build up. Our goal is to eliminate all warm tones and achieve more lift on the middle and ends first before moving higher.
This process can take 2-4 sessions before completely lifting the middle and ends to the same level as the top. We recommend to be patient and follow the balayage process for the first & second stage of going lighter.
Toner will not get rid of the excessive red/orange colour that needs to be lifted to a lighter level.
